HOW CAN I HELP ASSURE ONLINE DUTY OF CARE IS COVERED IN MY SCHOOL?
Eurologic Software provide a variety of tools to suit every environment. Our solutions help all staff members in the school take an active part in digital safeguarding. If one teacher sees a new website that is causing issues they can add it to the block list for the whole school. Network admins can scan for threats or vulnerabilities’ like the wannacry ransomware. The administration team can look at the word cloud of common keywords identified or past logs and events in the school.
Pastoral care teams can look up past activity and incidents and get real-time email alerts for any activity they see the need.
WILL CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE WORK ON BYOD?
Whilst this set up is a little bit more tricky due to privacy concerns. Many schools do use this approach and we recommend it.
You will need to organise permission from the parents to install on the student’s devices reminding them that it is the schools' duty of care to protects students whilst in your care, that it will improve student engagement and thus grades, prevent cyberbullying and misuse of your schools network and resources.
You can use a combination of MDM tools like InTune and teacher discipline that will keep the software on the student’s devices.
HOW CAN I INCREASE ENGAGEMENT OF MY STUDENTS IN CLASS AND HOW CAN I ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS FOR STUDENTS ONLINE?
Essentially software is installed on the student’s device which enables teachers to see the student’s screens and ensure that they are on task. Whilst this could be achieved by the way you place the machines in the classroom, what happens when a teacher is assisting one particular student? Our solutions help the teacher keep the students on task whilst their backs are turned. Showing off good work becomes a breeze as well as sharing resources like web pages with the students. Other features include logging of classroom activities, sending out applications, exam mode, chat, keyword filtering and screen capturing.

Firewalls are essential and we’ve come across some very powerful ones but we still recommend that extra layer of security on the device level.
Our tools allow teachers to customise blocks as part of their lesson be it on a website level e.g. Wikipedia or allow only one youtube video or monitoring keywords that are being used to cyberbully. You can also get down to a granular level in terms of what is blocked for which age group or type of user.
